AUDITIONS FOR “Annie Get Your Gun”

Audition times:
9:00-12:00           Boys & Girls (8-12)
12:30-2:30            Adults (19 and up)
1:30-4:30             Teens (13-18)
(Please contact Laura Snyder in advance at 763-1225 if you need to come at a time other than outlined above.)
 
WHAT TO EXPECT:

SINGING-Please be prepared to sing 16 measures of an upbeat Broadway Musical. 
(Nothing from Wicked, PLEASE!)  Bring your sheet music.  No CD players or other electronic devices, please. Accompanists will be provided. 

DANCING-Also, be prepared to learn dance steps by wearing appropriate footwear. 
(No flip-flops or sandals.)  You will be asked to present dance steps taught during auditions.

ACTING- Some of you may be asked to read lines and do some improvisation. 
(Presenting a 1 minute monologue is optional for callbacks only.)

SPECIAL SKILLS- We also need special skills such as Indian Hoop Dancers, Fiddle Players, Drummer, Guitar Player, Washboard Player, Jug or Bottle Players, and a Harmonica Player. Please let us know if you have any of these skills at auditions or by contacting Laura Snyder at 763-1225. Interested Musicians and Indian Dancers will be asked to come back at a special time during call-backs to play and dance for us.   We are excited to see these special talents!

We need Enthusiastic, Energetic, Community Minded, Volunteers to help as:  Assistant Directors, Stage Managers & Crew, Costume Directors, Seamstresses, Music Directors, Sound and Lighting Specialists, Choreographers, Hair & Make-up Specialists, Set Construction, Set Artists, Secretaries, Audition Coordinators, Rehearsal Supervisors, Ticketing, Publicity, Fundraising and much more!

Cast of Characters(In order of appearance)
Frank Butler- Proud, arrogant, handsome, sharp-shooting showman that sweeps Annie
off her feet.

Buffalo Bill Cody- Flamboyant, charismatic, bearded mountain man and founder of the
Wild West Show.

Dolly Tate- Flamboyant, irritating, egotistical assistant to Frank Butler.

Tommy Keeler- Young, handsome, half Indian, knife thrower in the Wild West Show.

Winnie Tate- Young, pretty love interest & assistant to Tommy Keeler and younger
sister of Dolly Tate.

Charlie Davenport- General Manager of the Wild West Show.

Foster Wilson- Bespectacled hotel proprietor who discovers Annie Oakley.

MacThe Prop Man.

Chief Sitting Bull- Noble Sioux Indian Chief.

Annie Oakley- Back woods sharp-shooter who is discovered and turns professional in
the Wild West Show.

Cowboy Band- Musicians such as fiddle players, jug blowers, drummers, washboard
players, etc.
 
Spectators- Crowds of people to see Wild West Show.
 
Lil’ Cowgirls/Cowpokes & Indians- Pint size entertainers in the Wild West Show.

ENSEMBLE
Singing-Dancing Ensemble consisting of:
Cowboys, Indians, Young Men & Ladies, Kings & Queens of Europe, Socialites,
Debutantes, et al

Set Requirements
ANNIE GET YOUR GUN takes place in the context of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West
Show featuring various settings around the Mid-West, Europe and New York City.
Specific locations as follows:
The Big Top
The Front Lawn of the Wilson Arms Hotel in Cincinnati, Ohio
A Pullman car on the Overland Steam Train
The Main Tent on the Minneapolis Fair Grounds
Annie’s Dressing Tent
The European Tour
The Upper Deck of a Cattle Boat
The Ballroom at the Hotel Brevoort in New York City
The Property Room
The Shooting Match
