Alpine Community Theater (ACT)

is proud to present

Alpine Community Theater is proud to partner with Community Action Services and Food Bank for our 2016 summer production of Oliver! One dollar ($1) of every ticket will go directly to Community Action’s Kids Nutrition Pack program.

Each pack contains 7 nutritious items for kids who qualify for free of reduced lunch to take home during the weekend. Last school year, Community Action had requests for over 3000 kits per weekend. With their limited resources they committed to doing 1200 with hope the community would help keep the program running. As they approach a new school year, they face the same situation—high demand with limited resources.  You can learn more about the Kids Nutrition Pack program here.
The message of Oliver aligns perfectly with Community Action and Alpine Community Theater’s vision of providing hope for those in need.  Bart Lionel’s musical Oliver! is based on the book by Charles Dicken’s and takes us back to 1850 London recounting the story of an orphan boy’s search for love, home and family.  Dicken’s used his stories to expose the underbelly of London society in order to create awareness of the underprivileged and those living in poverty.

Poverty isn’t something that exists halfway around the world or just in Dicken’s time; it exists right here in our own backyard today! In fact, 14% of Utah County population lives in poverty. That means there are over 22,000 children who aren’t sure where their next meal might come from.  While their circumstances might not be as dire as Oliver’s experience, the need is just as great.

Your ticket purchase not only provides you with a fun theatrical experience, it also provides hope for local children.  Together, we can make a difference in our community.  Let’s support the arts and feed the children!

Show Dates: July 22-Aug 8 at the Covey Center for the Arts.  Click Here or go to the Tickets & Donations Tab to get your tickets!
